Stubborn fat pads on the abdomen or hips? Dr. Eppstein shapes masculine, athletic contours with gentle liposuction – specifically where exercise alone no longer helps.
Despite regular exercise, iron discipline, and dieting, some people are denied their personal dream figure. Additionally, there are also medical reasons for seeking professional help.
From this point on, aesthetic surgery offers liposuction as a long-proven and safe way to get rid of certain fat deposits and get closer to one’s personal dream figure. Liposuction is a topic that affects men and women alike.
At EPPSTEIN Klinik Stuttgart, we offer two ways to treat stubborn fat deposits.
On the one hand, “Liposuction in tumescent local anesthesia” (short “TLA”) and “Water-jet assisted liposuction” (short “WAL”).

In liposuction using “tumescent local anesthesia” (TLA), fat deposits are first infiltrated with a fluid and, after an exposure period, gently suctioned off. The permanent removal of fat cells prevents new fat accumulation in the treated areas.
In water-jet assisted liposuction, unwanted fatty tissue is gently flushed out of the tissue using a water jet under anesthesia and simultaneously suctioned out with a special cannula. The goal of water-jet assisted liposuction is to achieve a sustainable improvement in body contour. To this end, the circumference of the affected regions is reduced and the symptoms are often significantly and long-term relieved.

Yes, the accompanying person can also stay overnight at the clinic.
In principle, multiple treatments can be performed during a single appointment. The extent to which specific treatments can be combined must be discussed during a personal consultation.
A specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery has specialized in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery during their 6-year specialist training following medical studies. Since the term “cosmetic surgeon” is not protected, any doctor can call themselves a cosmetic surgeon without having completed specialist training. We therefore recommend that you entrust yourself to a specialist such as Dr. Eppstein.
Dr. med. Ron Julius Eppstein is a full member of the DGPRÄC (German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons), the ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery), the VDÄPC (Association of German Aesthetic-Plastic Surgeons) and the GÄCD (Society for Aesthetic Surgery Germany e.V.).
No, the costs of the overnight stay are included in the OP price. There are no further costs for you.
As a rule, there are several weeks between the consultation and the surgery date. By law, a minimum period of 48 hours is required between the consultation and the performance of an elective procedure.
Certain pre-existing conditions as well as the intake of anticoagulant medication can lead to a decision against performing a cosmetic surgery procedure. Such matters will be discussed in detail during the consultation.
In a preliminary consultation with Dr. Eppstein, everything you need to know before the operation will be explained to you. Two weeks before the surgery, you should not take any medications that affect blood clotting, such as ASS (Aspirin). Furthermore, you should stop consuming cigarettes. Everything else is detailed on our ‘Before/After’ sheet, which you will receive after your consultation.
Fat can be suctioned from the thighs, lower legs, chest, abdomen, hips, upper arms, neck, and chin
Yes, multiple body regions can be suctioned during one procedure. If liposuction is performed on several body regions, the procedure may be carried out under general anesthesia.
No, generally, the suctioned fat cells cannot grow back. However, remaining fat cells can be filled again, for example, through poor, unhealthy diet, lack of sports, and exercise.
The two techniques used by Dr. Eppstein for liposuction are water-jet-assisted liposuction (WAL) and the tumescent method. In WAL, the fat cells are detached from the surrounding tissue with a razor-thin water jet and then suctioned out. The fatty tissue is gently suctioned, and postoperative discomfort is often significantly reduced as a result.
With the tumescence method, on the other hand, a larger amount of tumescent fluid is injected into the affected area, causing the fat to swell. This allows the fat to be suctioned out more easily. This technique is also gentle on the body, as the patient can do without general anesthesia.
Under general anesthesia, a maximum amount of 4-5 liters is possible depending on body size and weight; under local anesthesia, amounts up to approximately 2 liters are possible.
Exercising after the procedure depends not only on the treated body region but also on the type of sport itself. After 2-3 weeks, you can start with light exercise again without putting strain on the treated body region. In addition, light activities such as walking prevent thrombosis. From the 4th week onwards, the treated body region can gradually be subjected to more strain.
You will receive an emergency number where you can reach Dr. Eppstein at any time. In the event of a complication, please do not hesitate to call.
Physical rest and a healthy diet are important factors that contribute to rapid wound healing. The same applies to abstaining from cigarettes and alcohol. Dr. Eppstein will discuss further individual measures with you during the consultation.
The pain is generally well tolerated. Dr. Eppstein will issue a prescription for pain medication depending on the type of procedure.
A visible result is usually achieved after 3 months. The final result is typically reached after 6 months. The scars have generally reached their final appearance after about one year.
This may be possible under certain circumstances, but should be discussed individually with Dr. Eppstein.
Smoking can lead to a narrowing of the blood vessels, which worsens blood circulation and thus impairs healing. For a fast healing process, one should therefore refrain from the consumption of alcohol and cigarettes.
After liposuction, you must wear compression garments for 6 weeks. These will be provided by us and are included in the surgery price.
The scars from liposuction are minimal; the approximately 3 mm punctures are hardly visible after some time.
