Your Tummy Tuck in Stuttgart

Our skin has many tasks and abilities; among other things, it is extremely stretchable. This is essential in order to be able to adapt quickly to our weight and body volume, for example during weight gain. Due to overstraining of the connective tissue over a long period of time, the natural elasticity reaches its limits. The consequence is that the skin can no longer fully contract. In the abdominal area, this results in a shapeless excess of skin.

Many men suffer from this excess skin on the abdomen, especially after significant weight loss.

Feeling uncomfortable in one’s own body can lead to psychological distress. Especially when you cannot get the situation under control despite strict dieting and exercise. A burden that can be countered with the help of a tummy tuck.

A tummy tuck can restore the body’s natural silhouette.

If you have already considered such a procedure, here is all the initial information on the process of an abdominoplasty at the EPPSTEIN Klinik Stuttgart.

Abdominoplasty procedure in Stuttgart

In order to achieve the optimal result of a flat and uniform abdominal wall, every procedure is individually adapted to the aesthetic needs of the patient in advance.

Dr. Eppstein will advise you on this during a personal consultation at the clinic in Stuttgart. As soon as all wishes and questions regarding the tummy tuck have been clarified, a surgery appointment will be scheduled.

A tummy tuck is performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately 3 hours. The surgery is carried out in the dedicated operating room of the EPPSTEIN Klinik in Stuttgart Mitte. During the procedure, the sagging tissue between the pubic mound and the navel is removed, tightened downwards, and sutured in a line within the bikini area to achieve a beautiful result with as few scars as possible.

After the surgery, you will remain in the clinic for one night as an inpatient. After approximately 2 weeks, you have an appointment to trim the ends of the sutures, as self-dissolving stitches are used in this operation. You can generally resume sports activities approximately 6 weeks after the surgery.

To support healing, wear an abdominal belt for 6 weeks.

Our wish is for you to feel as comfortable as home during your hospital stay. Our luxurious and lovingly furnished patient rooms in Stuttgart Mitte provide the right space to relax.

Furthermore, it is important to us to be able to offer all amenities and services under one roof. For instance, an operating room and two patient rooms, equipped according to the latest medical technology standards, await you.

Yes, the accompanying person can also stay overnight at the clinic.

In principle, multiple treatments can be performed during a single appointment. To what extent certain treatments can be combined must be discussed during a personal consultation.

A specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery has specialized in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery during their 6-year specialist training following medical school. Since the term “cosmetic surgeon” is not protected, any doctor can call themselves a cosmetic surgeon without having completed specialist training. Therefore, we recommend entrusting yourself to a specialist such as Dr. Eppstein.

Dr. med. Ron Julius Eppstein is a full member of the DGPRÄC (German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons), the ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery), the VDÄPC (Association of German Aesthetic-Plastic Surgeons) and the GÄCD (Society for Aesthetic Surgery Germany e.V.).

No, the costs of the overnight stay are included in the OP price. There are no further costs for you.

Before the procedure

As a rule, there are several weeks between the consultation and the surgery appointment. By law, a minimum period of 48 hours is required between the consultation and the performance of an elective procedure.

Certain underlying medical conditions, as well as the use of anticoagulant medication, may lead to the decision to refrain from performing a cosmetic surgery procedure. Such details will be discussed in depth during the consultation.

In a preliminary consultation with Dr. Eppstein, everything you need to know before the operation will be explained to you. Two weeks before the surgery, you should not take any medications that affect blood clotting, such as ASS (Aspirin). Additionally, you should stop consuming cigarettes. Everything else is detailed on our ‘Before-After’ sheet, which you will receive after your consultation.

The procedure

The belly button remains in place. Depending on the extent of the excess skin, only the skin around the navel is repositioned, and the belly button is sewn back in at the end of the procedure. Depending on the presence of a rectus diastase (separation of the abdominal muscles), the abdominal muscles are tightened during the procedure.

In general, an abdominoplasty is permanent. However, the natural aging process can cause the tissue to lose its firmness over the years. An increase in body weight can also affect the results of the surgery.

Dr. Eppstein basically aims to achieve an inconspicuous scar. Although the scar from an abdominoplasty is long, it is placed as low as possible (below the bikini line) so that it is covered by underwear or swimming trunks.

An abdominoplasty is only performed with an inpatient overnight stay (one night) at the EPPSTEIN Klinik.

After the procedure

You will receive an emergency number where you can reach Dr. Eppstein at any time. In the event of a complication, please do not hesitate to call.

Physical rest and a healthy diet are important factors that contribute to rapid wound healing. The same applies to abstaining from cigarettes and alcohol. Dr. Eppstein will discuss further individual measures with you during the consultation.

The pain is generally well tolerated. Dr. Eppstein will issue a prescription for pain medication depending on the type of procedure.

A visible result is usually achieved after 3 months. The final result is typically reached after 6 months. The scars generally reach their final appearance after approximately one year.

This may be possible under certain circumstances, but should be discussed individually with Dr. Eppstein.

Smoking can lead to a narrowing of the blood vessels, which worsens blood circulation and thus impairs healing. For a fast healing process, one should therefore refrain from the consumption of alcohol and cigarettes.
