Unfortunately, however, not all wrinkles fall into this category. For bothersome wrinkles caused by overactivity of the facial muscles, there are nowadays quick and practical treatment options available—such as Botox®.
The wrinkles typically treated with this are the frown lines, the transverse forehead lines, and the crow’s feet around the eyes.
Botox® is one of the most frequently used substances in aesthetic medicine. In recent years, it has established itself as a highly effective agent for the treatment of expression lines.

Will I already incur costs during a consultation?
Yes, as a consultation is a medical service that must be billed according to the Gebührenordnung für Ärzte (GOÄ), a one-time fee of €75 will be charged for the individual and very detailed consultation.
What costs are associated with this treatment and is financing available?
The exact costs of the treatment can only be stated after a detailed examination. We offer flexible financing models for your treatments. For further inquiries and non-binding financing offers, you can contact us at any time.
Is there a possibility of cost coverage by my health insurance?
The Eppstein Klinik is a purely private clinic. Cooperation with statutory health insurance companies is therefore not possible. Our treatments are self-pay services.
Can the treatment be performed directly at the EPPSTEIN-Klinik?
Yes, with our own operating room, all procedures and treatments can be performed on site.
Why does the EPPSTEIN-Klinik not show before-and-after pictures?
According to the Heilmittelwerbegesetz §11 (1), German doctors are not permitted to advertise surgical plastic-cosmetic procedures through comparative depictions of appearance before and after the procedure (before-and-after images).
I have a long journey – can my companion also stay overnight at the clinic?
Yes, the accompanying person can also stay overnight at the clinic.
Can several treatments be performed at one appointment?
In principle, multiple treatments can be performed during a single appointment. To what extent certain treatments can be combined must be discussed during a personal consultation.
What is the difference between a cosmetic surgeon and a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery?
A specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery has specialized in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery during their 6-year specialist training following medical school. Since the term “cosmetic surgeon” is not protected, any doctor can call themselves a cosmetic surgeon without having completed specialist training. Therefore, we recommend entrusting yourself to a specialist such as Dr. Eppstein.
Is the EPPSTEIN Klinik a member of reputable professional associations?
Dr. med. Ron Julius Eppstein is a full member of the DGPRÄC (German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons), the ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery), the VDÄPC (Association of German Aesthetic-Plastic Surgeons) and the GÄCD (Society for Aesthetic Surgery Germany e.V.).
Will there be additional costs for staying overnight at the clinic?
No, the costs of the overnight stay are included in the OP price. There are no further costs for you.
Before the procedure
What is the typical timeframe between the consultation and the surgery date?
As a rule, there are several weeks between the consultation and the surgery appointment. By law, a minimum period of 48 hours is required between the consultation and the performance of an elective procedure.
Under what circumstances can no intervention be performed?
Certain underlying medical conditions, as well as the use of anticoagulant medication, may lead to the decision to refrain from performing a cosmetic surgery procedure. Such details will be discussed in depth during the consultation.
How do I optimally prepare for surgery?
In a preliminary consultation with Dr. Eppstein, everything you need to know before the operation will be explained to you. Two weeks before the surgery, you should not take any medications that affect blood clotting, such as ASS (Aspirin). Additionally, you should stop consuming cigarettes. Everything else is detailed on our ‘Before-After’ sheet, which you will receive after your consultation.
The procedure
What is the difference between Botox® and hyaluronic acid?
Botox® is a substance that relaxes muscles. Due to hyperactivity of the facial muscles—and decades of repetitive muscle movement—wrinkles become etched into the skin. These wrinkles typically form in the upper region of the face and are known as “frown lines,” “forehead lines,” and “crow’s feet.” With the aid of Botox®, the muscles relax and the wrinkles are smoothed out—in contrast to hyaluronic acid, which acts as a dermal filler. Hyaluronic acid is used to replenish volume that has been lost over the years. Wrinkles resulting from volume loss and tissue displacement typically appear in the lower region of the face and are referred to as “nasolabial folds” or “marionette lines.”
Is the result of a wrinkle treatment/filler permanent?
The results of wrinkle treatment using Botox® last approximately 3–4 months and can subsequently be repeated without any issues. Injections using hyaluronic acid typically last 6–12 months.
What happens if I do not repeat a wrinkle injection treatment?
The findings are gradually returning to the baseline.
Will my facial expressions be restricted due to the procedure?
During filler treatments, Dr. Eppstein always ensures that a natural-looking facial expression is maintained.
Can a hyaluronic acid treatment be combined with Botox®?
Yes, treatments with Botox® and hyaluronic acid can be combined.
After the procedure
How do I behave if complications occur?
You will receive an emergency number where you can reach Dr. Eppstein at any time. In the event of a complication, please do not hesitate to call.
How can I ensure a good healing process?
Physical rest and a healthy diet are important factors that contribute to rapid wound healing. The same applies to abstaining from cigarettes and alcohol. Dr. Eppstein will discuss further individual measures with you during the consultation.
Should I expect any pain after the procedure?
The pain is generally well tolerated. Dr. Eppstein will issue a prescription for pain medication depending on the type of procedure.
How long do I have to wait until a final result of the treatment is visible?
A visible result is usually achieved after 3 months. The final result is typically reached after 6 months. The scars generally reach their final appearance after approximately one year.
Can follow-up treatments also be carried out at another doctor or hospital, as I have a long journey?
This may be possible under certain circumstances, but should be discussed individually with Dr. Eppstein.
Does the consumption of alcohol or cigarettes have a direct impact on the healing process?
Smoking can lead to a narrowing of the blood vessels, which worsens blood circulation and thus impairs healing. For a fast healing process, one should therefore refrain from the consumption of alcohol and cigarettes.
